Important Tips

Nightlife Disney Style

Pleasure Island:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pleasure Island closes permanently September 28th 2008.

Pleasure Island features themed nightclubs, restaurants, and shops and is found at Downtown Disney.  It is open nightly from 7:00PM to 2:00 AM, although individual clubs' open times may vary.  Visitors are free to wander the area or dine at the restaurants but entering the nightclubs requires an admission ticket.  Pleasure Island is currently undergoing a major refurbishment that will take most of 2006 so check the current status before buying your tickets.  Here is just some of what you will find:

-8TRAX - Your favorites from the '70's.  Thursday feature music from the '80's.  8PM to 2AM.

-BET SoundStage Club - Hip-Hop, Reggae, & R&B.  Thursdays feature "On The Beat Karaoke" from 9PM - 11PM.  21 and older only on Thursdays - Saturday.  Open from 9:00PM - 2:00AM.

-Comedy Warehouse  - this non-smoking comedy club features great improvisational comedy.  Hours: 8:00, 9:05, 10:15. & 11:45PM.

-Mannequins Dance Palace - High-tech lighting and a revolving dance floor await those looking for the hottest techno and progressive beats.  Must be 21 to enter.  9 PM - 2 AM.

-Motion - Top 40 music and live DJ's give this an energetic, party feel.   9 PM - 2 AM.

-Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club - classic rock, live bands,  and a large dance floor.  Hours: 8 PM - 2AM.  Band sets: 9:10, 10:30, 11:50 PM and 12:55 AM.

-Adventurer's Club -  Zany interactive comedy in this 1930's Explorer's club.  Check out the Adventurers Club FAQ for more information about this fun and unusual club.  Kungoloosh!  Open most nights from 7PM - 1AM.  Open Monday nights from 9PM - 1AM.

Buying tickets - the multi-club ticket that gives you unlimited admission to all of the clubs for one night.  Single club tickets provide a significant discount and give admission to only one Pleasure Island club - single club tickets are not available for the Comedy Club or Adventures Club.   Discounts are available to Military personnel purchasing tickets in advance from Shades of Green, Disney Dining Experience card holders, and annual pass holders. Pleasure Island admission is included with Magic Your Way Tickets that include "Plus" options.

 Downtown Disney:
The following do not require a Pleasure Island admission and have a fun night-time atmosphere.

-Raglan Road - This new pub opened in October 2005 and is fast becoming a favorite.  Four antique Irish bars were imported from Ireland and great attention was given to the furnishings and trim to give this a classic Irish pub ambiance.  Irish musicians (traditional and contemporary) entertain nightly and the music, dance, and storytelling keep things fun and lively.  See Raglan Road Official Website or WDW Entertainment Schedule Website   for more details.

-House of Blues -  This restaurant features the largest publicly displayed folk art collection and is themed to honor the history of the Blues.  Dining available all evening with regular live music starting about 11:00PM.  Special concerts may require special tickets.  See the House of Blues official website for a list of scheduled events.  A Pleasure Island ticket is not required for this location.

-AMC 24 Theatres - 24 theaters playing first run movies.

-Planet Hollywood -  The food is only so-so but the fun design of this three-floor restaurant and all the great movie memorabilia make this worth a stop.  Check your Entertainment Book's colored pages for a coupon.  The Orlando Magicard will get you a 10% discount at Planet Hollywood.  Disney Annual Passholders should also ask about a discount.

Disney's Boardwalk:
Visitors to Walt Disney World resort often come and go without ever finding this special gem in the Epcot resort area.  The Boardwalk is designed to look like the Mid-Atlantic seaside villages from the early 1900's.  Here is a sampling of some of the fun you can find here:

  • ESPN Club - Sports bar/restaurant with over 100 televisions.
  • Big River Grille & Brewing Works
  • Belle Vue Lounge at the BoardWalk Inn - cozy furniture and antique radios playing classic radio shows.
  • Jellyrolls - an uproarious dueling piano bar & sing-along.  Opens at 7:00PM with non-stop live entertainment from 8:00PM to 2:00AM.  Rowdy, waterfront atmosphere.  $8 cover charge.
  • Atlantic Dance Hall - This spacious dance venue features DJ's playing your favorites from the 70's through today.  9:00PM - 2AM Tuesday through Saturday.  Ages 21 and over.
  • Boardwalk Entertainment - On Thursdays - Saturday evenings, you'll find street performers like balancing acts, a juggler, or street musicians that give the Boardwalk a fun, street festival feel; especially after dark with the lights are on.  You'll also find a Caricature Artist, hair wrappers, Surrey bike rental, and carnival games.
  • Shopping -  you will find shops offering everything  candy, Disney merchandise, golf apparel and accessories, toys, and the Wyland Galleries.

The Boardwalk is an easy walk from Disney-MGM Studios or Epcot.  You can also take Disney transportation to the closest theme park, water park, or Downtown Disney and catch a bus to the Boardwalk Inn and Villas.

Build a Better Mouse Trip will make your reservations (where available) as
part of your Itinerary & Park Plan (IPP) or Basic Reservations service.
