Alert List for Free Dining at Walt Disney World

The 2008 Free Dining package is no longer available. This promotion has been offered for the last four years and was released in the spring with Free Dining offered for varying times from late August to early October. While we cannot be certain that free dining will be offered, the fact that a special promotion has been offered to 2008 WDW guests returning in 2009 makes us hopeful that the promotion will be offered again.

Please use the form below to receive our "Disney Free Dining" alert. You will not be added to any other mailing lists - we will not share your information with anyone. Use the comment/question box to let us know if you need brochures or any other Orlando, Florida or cruise vacation information.

Details from the 2008 Free Dining Promotion:

In early April 2008, Disney offered their very popular “Free Dining” promotion for guests staying at least three consecutive nights a Walt Disney World Resort hotel from August 24th - September 20th, 2008.   You had to buy at least a one day Magic Your Way ticket per person in order to receive the “Magic Your Way” Dining Plan for free.  The 2008 dining plan allowed you to enjoy one counter service meal, one table service meal, plus one snack per person each day of your stay.  There are a few “Signature Dining” locations that require two table service credits but these are the exception.  Most of the wonderful and fun dining choices – including Character meals - available at each of the Disney theme parks, Downtown Disney, and in the resorts require only one credit per person.

A family of four (2 adults / 2 children, ages 3 - 9) usually paid $99.96 per day for the Magic Your Way Basic Dining plan but received this dining package absolutely free with a qualifying Magic Your Way basic package.

The trip had to be booked by June 24th, 2008 and this special offer was only eligible for Disney vacations between 8/24/08– 9/20/08.  This promotion could not be combined with any other discount or special offers.  There were packages available for guests staying at the Disney deluxe, moderate, and value resorts but suites were excluded.  There were a limited number of packages available so it was important to book the reservation as early as possible.

Build A Better Mouse Trip does not charge any fees for making your hotel reservations.  We can also book your airline and rental car reservations.  When you allow us to book your trip, we are happy to make all of your dining reservations for you. Better yet, we credit any commissions toward custom itinerary and touring plan services, giving them to you at a significant discount – or even free.

Contact us right away with any questions.  We are happy to provide a quote for your upcoming trip and there is never any obligation.

TIP :  When using the dining plan, children (ages 3 -9) must order from the Children's menu so we recommend that you schedule a few buffets or family style meals for added variety.  Two of our favorites are Boma (buffet / Animal Kingdom Lodge) and dinner at O'hana's (Family Style / Polynesian Resort).   The Trails End restaurant at the Disney Fort Wilderness Campground is not fancy but is very satisfying buffet and is a great way to start your evening before heading over to the Campfire Sing-Along with Chip & Dale (Free).

TIP:   A princess breakfast / lunch / Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom is very popular but requires two table service credits.  Epcot has Princess Storybook meals in the Akershus castle that only require one table service credit per person.  Fans of Cinderella can enjoy Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at Disney's Grand Floridian resort for just one table service credit per person.  Anyone who loves the Disney Princesses should see our Disney Princess Page .

TIP:   You can also use a table service credit for a Disney-MGM Studios Fantasmic Dinner Package at either Mama Melrose's or Hollywood & Vine.   This is not a dinner show – you eat at your choice of these two restaurants and receive a ticket that allows you to by-pass the line for Fantasmic , the evening spectacular.  There is a third restaurant option – The Brown Derby – but this is a “Signature Dining Experience” and requires two table-service credits.

TIP:   Since it is free, why not try some of those restaurants that you've been curious about or try a new cuisine at one of the country pavilions in Epcot's World Showcase

TIP:   Just send us an email and we will be happy to send a list of all the approved snack items available throughout Disneyworld.  This will help you get the best value from your snack credits.  By using our snack credits for a light breakfast, we did not need to buy any additional food during this promotion last year.  Our only food-related purchases were a few extra beverages.
